The Accounting & Controls Specialist will support our day-to-day accounting operations while contributing to the development, documentation, and maintenance of internal control procedures. This role plays a key part in ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency within the finance function.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments as part of the monthly close process.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Assist with accounts payable/receivable, general ledger maintenance, and intercompany transactions.
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and reports.
- Assist with annual audits by providing schedules and documentation as requested.
- Monitor compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal control guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits and compliance reviews.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance internal controls and reduce risk.
- Work with other departments to gather financial data and ensure accurate cost allocations.
- Support finance leadership with ad hoc analysis and reporting related to controls, compliance, or financial performance.
- Serve as a backup for the Dispatch team, providing support as needed to ensure seamless operations and coverage during absences or peak periods.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or working toward certification is a plus.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in accounting or internal controls.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and strong Excel skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of cost accounting principles and inventory management practices.
- Hands-on experience with standard costing, variance analysis, and bill of materials (BOM).
- Understanding of inventory controls, cycle counts, and reconciliation processes.
