Title: Operations Manager
Location: Based in Savage, Maryland

YOUR MANDATE
The Operations Manager will have the responsibility to oversee daily operations at our Sustana Recovery Plant in Savage. This role is vital to ensure safety, productivity, and operational excellence while leading and supporting a dedicated team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the General Manager, the incumbent of the role will ensure the efficiency and the productivity of the operations of the plant.
More specifically:
- Supervise day-to-day plant operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with environmental regulations.
- Lead, coach, and mentor plant staff, including operators, maintenance personnel, and support teams.
- Monitor production schedules, material flow, and equipment performance to meet production goals.
- Collaborate with teams to reduce downtime and improve product quality.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, efficiency, and cost control.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed and contribute to a culture of safety-first.
- Prepare and maintain operational reports, shift summaries, and performance metrics.
- Act as the point of contact for resolving operational issues and coordinating with upper management.
- Mechanical knowledge is a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing, recycling, or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of wastepaper processing or recycling operations is a strong asset.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in interpreting production data and implementing process improvements.
- Strong commitment to health and safety standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
