Foodservice Packaging Recycling Expands in Chicago Area

Share

Regional recycling opportunities expanded for over 1 million residents in the Midwest

Households in the Chicago area served by Lakeshore Recycling Systems (LRS) can now recycle paper cups alongside already accepted take-out packaging, including: paper bags, pizza boxes, molded fiber containers, PET cups, and polypropylene (PP) cups and containers. An educational campaign, supported in part through a grant from the Foodservice Packaging Institute (FPI), will spread awareness about the newly accepted material and recycling best practices. Learn more about FPI’s community partnership program that has impacted hundreds of communities and increased access to recycling of paper cups and other foodservice packaging items.
