Regional recycling opportunities expanded for over 1 million residents in the Midwest
Households in the Chicago area served by Lakeshore Recycling Systems (LRS) can now recycle paper cups alongside already accepted take-out packaging, including: paper bags, pizza boxes, molded fiber containers, PET cups, and polypropylene (PP) cups and containers. An educational campaign, supported in part through a grant from the Foodservice Packaging Institute (FPI), will spread awareness about the newly accepted material and recycling best practices.
